Banyan Group has expanded its presence in China’s Greater Bay Area with the grand debut of Banyan Tree Zhuhai Phoenix Bay, the first Banyan Tree property in Zhuhai. Nestled between lush hills and the South China Sea, the resort captures the city’s maritime charm while offering a tranquil escape within one of China’s most vibrant regions.

Forming a dual-branded resort complex with Angsana Zhuhai Phoenix Bay, the property overlooks the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge and Zhuhai Grand Theatre, providing seamless access to Gongbei Port and other city landmarks. The opening comes as Banyan Group celebrates its 20th anniversary in China and approaches a milestone 100th hotel worldwide with the upcoming Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree in Singapore.
Where Lingnan Heritage Meets Modern Elegance
Drawing inspiration from Lingnan culture, Banyan Tree Zhuhai Phoenix Bay blends the artistry of Southern China’s waterways and gardens with contemporary design. The architecture mirrors Zhuhai’s seafaring spirit through terracotta roofs, oyster shell walls, and sail-shaped rooftops that echo the motion of the sea. Inside, pearl-toned interiors and hexagonal lattice motifs evoke the textures of fishing nets and coastal light.
At its heart, the lobby unfolds into a serene “Flower Corridor” and “Water Alley”, where reflections, fragrances, and handcrafted details create a seamless harmony between nature and culture. The resort’s 83 guestrooms and suites open to panoramic sea or mountain views, with select accommodations featuring private pools or onsen-style hot springs.

A Taste of the Coastline
Culinary experiences at Banyan Tree Zhuhai Phoenix Bay celebrate the flavours of southern China’s coasts:
- XUN – The signature restaurant serving refined Minnan cuisine, balancing umami-rich seafood with Cantonese finesse.
- RONG – A tranquil breakfast venue offering handcrafted dim sum, roast dishes, and delicate soups.
- BANG – A whisky and grill bar featuring over 60 labels, fresh seafood, and views of the Zhuhai Grand Theatre.
- THE BUTTER – A dessert and light dining venue blending traditional Chinese flavours with modern flair.
- MIRROR – A waterside lounge inviting guests to unwind over tea amid the gentle rhythm of a Lingnan water town.
Wellbeing in Harmony with Nature
At the Banyan Tree Spa, seven ocean-view treatment rooms float above the bay, offering therapies inspired by the sea’s natural rhythm. Guests can continue their wellness journey with Wing Chun sessions, beach meditation, or singing bowl resonance, while the cliffside hot springs and infinity pool merge seamlessly with the horizon.
The resort also features a state-of-the-art fitness centre with ocean views and a dedicated yoga room, creating space for balance and restoration.
Celebrations Framed by the Sea
For memorable gatherings, the Phoenix Ballroom offers 863 square metres of pillarless space with soaring nine-metre ceilings and natural light. A pre-function foyer opens to lush lawns and a viewing terrace overlooking cascading waters, while a sky lawn provides a breathtaking setting for ceremonies against the backdrop of the South China Sea.
