An Air India flight en route from Phuket to New Delhi made an emergency landing on 13 June 2025 after a bomb threat was reported on board.
The flight, numbered AI 379, departed Phuket International Airport at 9.30am local time.
Shortly after take-off, the aircraft looped back over the Andaman Sea and returned to Phuket.
According to Airports of Thailand (AOT), 156 passengers were on board. All were evacuated in line with emergency procedures.
AOT confirmed the safe landing and stated that standard safety protocols are being followed.
Authorities did not find any explosives during the initial search.
However, a note indicating a bomb threat was recovered. The passenger who discovered the note is currently being questioned.
The Transport Ministry confirmed the safety of passengers and operations at the airport.
Further checks and investigations are ongoing, although details of the threat remain undisclosed.
