Albirex take on Geylang at Choa Chu Kang Stadium at 7.45pm on Tuesday, 24 March, in what promises to be a fascinating early test of where both sides stand in the 2026 WPL season.

Albirex head into this one in good form — unbeaten in their last six league matches and sitting at the top of the table. Their 2-0 win over fellow title challengers Sailors last time out was a solid result, halting Sailors’ unbeaten run while extending their own goal difference advantage. They’ve also had the better of Geylang in every meeting last season, so they’ll be approaching this first encounter of the new season with plenty of confidence.

Geylang come in off the back of a morale-boosting 5-2 win over Tiong Bahru that moved them up to fourth, a welcome response after a difficult 6-0 defeat to Sailors back in February. They’ll be hoping to carry that form forward and test an Albirex side they haven’t managed to get the better of recently. It’s their first meeting of the new season, and Geylang will be keen to show the gap from last year has closed.

Can Tanjong Pagar find their spark against a confident Still Aerion side?

Still Aerion face Tanjong Pagar at Choa Chu Kang Stadium at 7.45pm on Friday, 27 March, as the third-placed side look to hold their position and keep their solid season on track.

Aerion have been one of the more consistent sides in the division and will be looking to maintain that third-place standing. They had the better of both meetings with the Jaguars last season, and come into this one in a comfortable position with no real reason to change what has been working for them.

Tanjong Pagar have had a tough run of it so far, with their only win coming via a narrow 1-0 over Tiong Bahru — captain Nuriah Noor’s early goal enough to see them through on the day. It has been a difficult season, but they’ve shown they can grind out results when needed, and will be hoping to draw on that resilience here and pick up some much-needed points.

Bragging rights on the line for Balestier and BG Tampines

Saturday, 28 March | 5pm | Choa Chu Kang Stadium

Also on 28 March, Balestier and BG Tampines go head-to-head at Choa Chu Kang Stadium at 5pm, with both sides level on nine points and separated only by goal difference — making this one of the most significant matches of the round.

The Does come in off two consecutive wins and are in decent shape heading into this one, with momentum firmly behind them. They’ll be looking to build on that run and put some daylight between themselves and the sides below.

Balestier had a slight setback against Aerion last week but have been quietly solid throughout the season, emerging as one of the more underrated sides in the league this season. They’re unbeaten against BG Tampines in their recent head-to-head meetings last season — a 3-1 win and a draw — and will be confident of making that record count here. Expect both sides to come out with a clear intent to win.

Sailors look to respond as Tiong Bahru aim to build on recent resilience

Saturday, 28 March | 7.30pm | Bukit Gombak Stadium

The action on 28 March gets underway as Tiong Bahru meet Sailors at Bukit Gombak Stadium at 7.30pm, with the second-placed side looking to bounce back after their first defeat of the season.

Sailors lost 2-0 to Albirex last time out, ending their unbeaten run. They remain well-placed in the title race and will be looking to return to winning form here. They’ve historically done well against Tiong Bahru, and with plenty of the season still to play, getting three points back on the board is the priority.

Tiong Bahru have had a tough season but have shown they can compete on their day — their draw against Hougang a reminder of that. They’ll be looking to put in a disciplined performance and make things difficult for a Sailors side that will be eager to prove a point.

Hougang look to turn the tide as Geylang return for second match of the week

Saturday, 28 March | 7.30pm | Choa Chu Kang Stadium

Rounding off the matchweek, Hougang meet Geylang at Choa Chu Kang at 7.30pm in a rescheduled fixture that gives Geylang a second match in the space of a few days in the nine-team WPL.

Geylang come in with good momentum and a positive record against Hougang from last season — winning once and drawing the other meeting. The quick turnaround may be a factor, but they’ll be looking to keep their recent run going and maintain pressure on the sides above them.

Hougang have found wins hard to come by this season and are still looking for that first victory, having scored just once across their opening five matches. Hougang will be eager to put in a strong showing and give their supporters a performance to remember, and a Geylang side on a quick turnaround could provide just the opportunity they need.
