TikTok Singapore recently marked the close of 2025 with its year end luncheon, bringing together creators, partners and media to reflect on a year defined by creativity, connection and community. We attended the event, reconnecting with familiar faces, meeting new creators and gaining a closer look at the moments and movements that shaped TikTok’s local cultural landscape over the past year.

Framed under the theme Best of 2025 Powered by You, TikTok highlighted how the platform continued to be a space for discovery and authenticity. Singaporeans sang along to a low cost airline’s viral jingle, embraced the imperfect charm of the Wabi Sabi trend and celebrated Joo Chiat’s recognition as one of the world’s coolest streets.

Nicole Ang, Communications Manager at TikTok Singapore, shared that throughout 2025, the community reinforced TikTok as a platform for discovery, authenticity and growth, from small businesses scaling through TikTok Shop to educators strengthening digital citizenship, with the company committed to nurturing a positive and inclusive environment into 2026.

Creators remained at the heart of TikTok’s impact in 2025.

Standout personalities such as Darshen (@kdarshen) captured attention with his fashion forward humour and the My Name is Darshen trend alongside Dr Samuel (@drsamuelgp). Accounts like the Singapore Police Force (@singaporepoliceforce) and Singapore Civil Defence Force (@myscdf) showed that public safety messaging could be both engaging and creative, while Ian (@ianthioo) and his grandmother won hearts with intergenerational storytelling. Lifestyle creator Natalie (@naploes) also stood out for her relatable takes on beauty, fashion and travel.

The year also saw a strong wave of rising voices.

Creators like Dylan (@dchtoons) reimagined Singapore landmarks through illustration, Wilfred (@wilfredleekc) became a trusted guide to the local food scene and Elise (@eliseylise) impressed audiences with detailed cosplay designs. Others such as Yan Lin (@coachwhy_yan), Delonix (@sandaifishball), Hashim (@smashsportsco) and Cordillia from Pitstop Tyres (@pitstop.tyres) shared stories rooted in health, heritage, family business and industry insight, reflecting the diversity of voices shaping TikTok Singapore.

Beyond entertainment, TikTok continued to support learning and positive change.

Creators including Caitanya Tan (@caitofalltraits), Eric Youn (@esyfilms), Yong (@urbanist.singapore), Denise (@supercatkei), Opera Tang (@theoperatang) and MJ (@justkeepthinking) used short form video to spark conversations around culture, heritage, wellbeing, science and identity, reinforcing creativity as a force for social impact.

Commerce was another major highlight, with TikTok Shop cementing its role as a discovery led shopping platform.

From January to November 2025, TikTok Shop recorded 1.8 times growth in daily shoppers, 1.4 times growth in local sellers and nearly double the number of affiliate creators.

Livestreaming continued to gain momentum, with a 110 percent increase in gross merchandise value and 1.5 times more LIVE hours streamed by creators.

Global brands like Haidilao (@haidilaosingapore) and POP MART (@popmart.sg.shop) connected with fans through exclusive deals, while local names such as Lickz Juice (@lickz.sg) and Shopsassydream (@shopsassydream) grew loyal followings.

Livestreamers like Fredy Chia (@fredyjayssg) and Claire Si Ting (@spotclaire) also demonstrated how consistent engagement could translate into sustainable careers.

The year concluded with the 12.12 Christmas Sale, offering LIVE vouchers, free shipping and stackable cashback to the community, as well as rallying the local community to support Team Singapore athletes at the ongoing Southeast Asian Games in Thailand with #SEAGames2025.

Underpinning these celebrations was TikTok’s ongoing focus on digital wellbeing.

In November, the platform expanded safeguards for teen accounts and introduced new AI transparency tools, including invisible watermarking, clearer content labels and user controls to manage AI generated content in the feed, giving users greater clarity and control.

Thank you to TikTok Singapore and the local creator community for an inspiring 2025. We look forward to continuing this journey together with you too and to creating and enjoying even more meaningful content together in 2026.
