The pitch at Jalan Besar Stadium now meets Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) natural surface-only policy for its major national team and club competitions.

The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) will now utilise Jalan Besar to host all home games of Singapore Premier League (SPL) clubs participating in the Shopee Cup and the AFC Champions League Two.

BG Tampines and Lion City Sailors are the SPL’s only representatives in both competitions. The Sailors will first step onto Jalan Besar’s new natural turf on 17 December, in their Group B Shopee Cup tie against Myanmar side, Shan United.

The FAS will continue to work with SPL clubs, Sport Singapore, and AFC to ensure a smooth transition and to uphold the standards expected of competition venues.
