SINGAPORE, 6 NOVEMBER 2025 – The Singapore Under-22 National Team, led by Head Coach Firdaus Kassim, will travel to Dubai from 11 to 19 November 2025 for a training camp as part of their preparations for the upcoming SEA Games in Thailand this December.
As part of the camp, the team will play two preparation matches – against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) U22 side on 15 November and Iraq U22 side on 18 November – both of which will provide valuable high-level exposure ahead of the regional tournament.
Comprising mainly of players from the Young Lions, the 25-man squad also features the overseas-based trio of Jonan Tan, Khairin Nadim, and Muhammad Asis, who ply their trade in Portugal with FC Vizela. The team is further reinforced by the inclusion of Tanjong Pagar United goalkeeper Sunny Tia.
Reflecting the long-term developmental direction of the programme, the squad features a strong contingent of younger talents, including five players born in 2008 – Andy Reefqy, Harith Danish, Luth Harith, Nathan Mao, and Rae Peh. The drive to include young players underscores the intent to build a cohesive and competitive core of players towards the 2029 SEA Games cycle.
“This camp will be an important part of our SEA Games preparations – not just for the tournament in December, but also for the longer developmental process,” said Firdaus.
“Competing against quality opposition like the UAE and Iraq will test the players’ ability to perform under pressure and help them understand what it takes to compete at a higher level,” he added.
