Local fractional agency OtterHalf introduces Ottie’s Fishy Business: Singapore’s first marketing-themed card game designed to teach children the basics of marketing through otter-inspired storytelling and screen-free play.

The game was created by OtterHalf founder Cassandra Ong, who drew inspiration from her own daughters. While trying to explain her “otter” job in marketing, Cassandra realised there were no kid-friendly ways to break down concepts like branding, storytelling, and competitive strategy. After eight months of prototyping and testing, she turned that challenge into a playful solution.
In Ottie’s Fishy Business, players help Ottie the otter grow her fish business by making smart marketing decisions. The 55 illustrated cards feature Missions, Actions, and Wilds, weaving in lessons on branding, influencer marketing, campaign planning, and even business ethics. Designed for 2 to 5 players aged seven and up, the game is easy to learn, replayable, and plays out in under 20 minutes making it a hit with kids, parents, educators, and professionals alike.

For Cassandra, the project is personal. As a child, her own micro-business ideas floundered without marketing know-how. Now, she hopes the game will equip young entrepreneurs, and even new business founders, with tools she wished she had. Beyond family fun, Cassandra envisions the game in classrooms and enrichment programmes, offering a hands-on alternative to theory-heavy lessons.
Built with input from local creatives, educators, and marketing mentors, Ottie’s Fishy Business carries a community-driven purpose: making marketing accessible, relatable, and fun for all ages.
The game is now available in Singapore via the OtterHalf website, with early supporters invited to join community playtesting by emailing [email protected].
