Singapore Cricket Club (SCC) were crowned champions of the Singapore Football League (SFL) 1 2025 season on Sunday (7 Sep), sealing the title on the final matchday after a close battle with Jungfrau Punggol FC and Police Sports Association.

Heading into the last round of fixtures on 7 September, all three sides were still in contention – SCC and Jungfrau level on 29 points apiece, with Police just behind on 28. Victory was essential for any of the trio to keep their title hopes alive.

At Jurong East Stadium, SCC took on Katong FC knowing only three points would suffice. Despite early pressure from their opponents, SCC struck twice just before the interval through Timothy Cheng and Keefe Soon. They held firm in the second half to secure a 2-0 win and put themselves in pole position.

Over at Clementi Stadium, Jungfrau faced direct rivals Police, and made the perfect start when they grabbed an early goal to move temporarily ahead in the title race. Police were unable to respond, and Jungfrau’s 1-0 result meant the championship would be decided on goal difference.

With both SCC and Jungfrau finishing level on 32 points, it was SCC’s stronger defensive record – conceding just 10 goals across 14 matches and registering six clean sheets – that proved decisive.

Police’s defeat meant they had to settle for third place, while SCC lifted the trophy for the first time since the SFL was restructured. The club also claimed the 2025 Challenge Cup in April, marking their first piece of silverware this season.

In the individual charts, Singapore Khalsa Association’s Fariz Faizal topped the scoring standings with 11 goals, followed by Jungfrau’s Hairil Sufi with 10. Police’s Ilhan Noor and Jungfrau’s Liam Shotton finished joint-third with eight goals each.
