This year’s theme, Island Nights, pays tribute to Singapore’s unique identity as an island shaped by cultural exchanges and global connections: a fitting celebration as the nation marks its 60th anniversary. It’s also the first festival helmed by HeritageSG, promising fresh perspectives that bring heritage to life in bold, imaginative ways.

Festival Highlights

  • Sky Castle by ENESS – Step into a glowing wonderland at Cathay Green, where towering inflatable arches radiate shifting colours and melodic sounds. Tickets are $5 on Klook.
  • Kampong Chill by Yok & Sheryo – Escape into slow living at Capitol Singapore with artistic workshops and a tranquil island-inspired pavilion perfect for unwinding.
  • Projection Mappings – Tradition meets innovation as:
    • MOSAIC by Jérémie Bellot transforms the National Museum with stars, maps, kebaya, and batik motifs—celebrating 60 years of French-Singapore ties.
    • Island Nights at CHIJMES showcases works by local and regional artists, from underwater odysseys and shipwreck tales to journeys across Southeast Asian waters and botanical healing traditions.

Night Lights Installations

Six large-scale works reimagine Singapore’s past, present, and future, including:

  • CYBERSWORDFISH V2.0 by Yang Derong – a cyberpunk swordfish built from e-waste at Plaza Singapura.
  • UTOPIA by Jahan Loh – a vision of Singapore 600 years into the future.
  • Jiwa Laut – glowing crab sculptures that react to movement along Armenian Street.
  • Two Sides of Our Island – an interactive installation at Raffles City that blends visuals with nostalgic scents.

Festival villages return in style:

  • Retro District at Bugis Street Art Lane – a nostalgic playground of vintage shops, collectibles, and retro photo ops.
  • SMU Arts Fest: 2560 and Paradise Island at Armenian Street – vibrant showcases of local arts and Peranakan culture.
