SINGAPORE: Thirteen people were taken to hospital on 5 August 2025 following a traffic accident involving two buses and a car in Tampines.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the incident at about 10.20am near the junction of Tampines Avenue 2 and Tampines Avenue 7.

Police confirmed that the accident involved two buses and a private hire car. A total of 13 individuals, aged between 30 and 69, were conscious when taken to hospital.

Those injured included 12 bus passengers and the 69-year-old bus driver. According to SCDF, five people were conveyed to Changi General Hospital and eight to Sengkang General Hospital.

Videos circulated on social media showed two SBS Transit buses damaged at the scene, with one taking the brunt of the impact. SCDF personnel were seen responding, and bystanders had gathered along the sidewalk.

According to Chinese-language newspaper Lianhe Zaobao, the car involved was a private hire vehicle.

SBS Transit posted at 10.45am on X (formerly Twitter) that several bus services were delayed due to the accident. Services later resumed normal operations.
