23-year-old motorcyclist dies after accident with lorry on BKE

SINGAPORE: A 23-year-old male motorcyclist died following an accident with a lorry near Woodlands Checkpoint on the morning of 25 July.

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to the incident along the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) towards the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE), before the Seletar Expressway (SLE) exit, at about 6:50am.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic.

His 23-year-old male pillion rider, who was unconscious, was taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, the authorities added.

A 39-year-old male lorry driver is assisting the police with investigations.

A video posted on the Singapore Roads Accident.com Facebook page showed a blue police tent erected next to a lorry carrying prefabricated construction material.

Blood and debris were visible near the tent.
