SINGAPORE: A fire broke out at a warehouse in Tuas on the morning of 22 May 2025, with no injuries reported.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said in a Facebook post that it was alerted to the blaze at 4 Tuas Avenue 18 at around 10am.
The fire involved waste materials within a 5m by 5m area inside the warehouse.
SCDF personnel extinguished the fire using two water jets and an unmanned firefighting machine.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
This incident marks the second industrial fire reported in May.
The earlier case occurred on 9 May in Tampines, involving textile items in a building.
In April, another warehouse blaze was reported in Pioneer.
According to SCDF’s annual statistics released on 13 February, 98 fires occurred at industrial premises in 2024, down from 106 in 2023.
SCDF responded to total of 1,990 fires last year, marking a 1.8 per cent increase from 2023.
SCDF attributed the overall rise in fire cases to more incidents at commercial, social, and communal premises.
