The Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) has launched The Nanyang Breakfast Club: Let’s Lim Kopi, Jiak Roti—a travelling exhibition that celebrates the rich heritage of the beloved Nanyang breakfast. Now open at SingPost Centre (Level 2), this immersive experience invites you to explore the origins and evolution of this staple dish.

Pioneered by the Hainanese and influenced by Chinese, Malay, Peranakan, and Western cultures, the Nanyang breakfast is more than just kaya toast and kopi—it’s a symbol of Singapore’s multicultural identity. Step into a recreated clubhouse setting to discover how this meal has shaped local food culture through interactive displays, storytelling, and archival exhibits. Learn about the deep-rooted role of kopitiams (traditional coffee shops) as gathering spaces that have connected generations of Singaporeans.

As part of SCCC’s SG60 celebrations, this exhibition—supported by the National Heritage Board and the Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations—will travel across malls, schools, and libraries until September 2025 before making its final stop at SCCC until November 2025.
