CHINA: In a heartwarming turn of events, two stray dogs in China have earned widespread praise after they were seen coming to the aid of a pet dog that had been struck by a car.
The footage which was shared online, shows the incredible act of compassion and courage as the two stray dogs risked their own safety to pull the injured dog to safety.
The incident occurred when the owner’s pet dog, which had slipped through a gap in the door, dashed onto the road and was hit by a passing vehicle.
As the dog lay in the middle of the road, two nearby stray dogs quickly approached the scene.
Despite several cars passing by and some swerving to avoid hitting the animals, the strays were determined to help.
The video shows the stray dogs hovering around the injured pet, nudging it gently with their noses, seemingly trying to wake it up.
However, the dog remained motionless.
After several minutes, one of the stray dogs took the initiative and began dragging the injured dog to the roadside, away from the danger of the traffic.
The pet dog’s owner was heartbroken when he later reviewed the CCTV footage and discovered what had transpired.
While he was devastated by the accident, he was deeply moved by the strays’ heroic actions.
Fortunately, the injured dog survived with only minor external injuries and was promptly taken to the vet.
The vet confirmed that there were no fractures, and the dog would only need some rest to recover.
According to the local Jiangsu news platform Lizhi News, the dog’s owner stated that the dog was successfully resuscitated.
The footage of the stray dogs’ bravery has touched the hearts of many online viewers, with some expressing hope that the two strays would be given a better future.
Many have also called for the strays to be given a home, praising their selfless actions in saving the pet dog.
