SINGAPORE, 5 MARCH 2025 – Women’s Premier League (WPL) All-Stars Head Coach Ratna Suffian has named a 20-player squad to face Brisbane Roar’s Ninja A-League Women’s team in a highly anticipated clash on Friday, 4 April at the Bishan Stadium.
The match is part of the Roar’s five-day tour (1-5 April, 2025), organised in partnership with the Football Association of Singapore (FAS), a tour aimed at leveraging community engagement and international exposure to fuel the growth of women’s football here.
The Head Coach of Geylang International’s women’s team and WPL Coach of the Year said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for our WPL players to challenge themselves against top-level competition and gain valuable experience.
“The squad we’ve put together showcases the depth of talent in the league, and this match will be a measure of our players’ progress, but perhaps more importantly for women’s football in Singapore, this match is a chance for fans to see first-hand how much the game has grown.”

The squad features players from Lion City Sailors, Geylang, Albirex Niigata (S), Still Aerion, and Hougang United, blending experienced internationals with emerging stars of the Singapore game.
Leading the team is 27-year-old Rosnani Azman, captain of both Albirex and the Singapore Women’s National Team. The first Singaporean to play professionally in Japan in 2021, she was part of Singapore’s Asean Football Federation (AFF) Women’s Cup 2024 squad that secured qualification for this year’s ASEAN Women’s Championships — the MSIG Serenity Cup.
Joining her is a strong local core with 14 players boasting senior National Team experience. Among them are Sailors’ captain Umairah Hamdan, and her fellow Sailors’ defenders Syazwani Ruzi and Nurhidayu Naszri; and Geylang forward Farhanah Ruhaizat — all of whom have over 25 international caps each. The latter three were also part of the AFF Women’s Cup 2024 squad.
Other familiar faces who have represented Singapore internationally include Still Aerion forward Lila Tan and 34-year-old defender Hamizah Talib, who logged the most minutes in the 2024 WPL season — she played every single minute of every game for Geylang last season.
Ratna’s squad also showcases a new generation of talent already making their way into the senior National Team. Among them is 16-year-old Sailors’ goalkeeper Izairida Shakira, the 2024 WPL Golden Glove winner who was part of the Lionesses’ historic 9-0 victory over Macau. Her teammate, 16-year-old midfielder Cara Chang, played a decisive role in the AFF Women’s Cup 2024, scoring the crucial goal against Laos that secured Singapore’s semi-final berth. Joining them is 20-year-old WPL Young Player of the Year Farah Nurzahirah, who netted 13 goals for Geylang and scored on her senior international debut against Pakistan in 2023.

Adding tremendous experience to the WPL All-Stars are international standouts including Still Aerion defender Sunisa Srangthaisong. Known as Nancy in the local football fraternity, Sunisa captained Thailand at two FIFA Women’s World Cup tournaments, and brings top-level experience to the table.
Kana Kitahara is a decorated figure in the WPL, having won both Player of the Year and the Golden Boot in 2023. A former Japan international and 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup finalist, she now serves in a dual player-coach role for Albirex.
Rounding out the squad is 38-year-old Albirex forward Manami Fukuzawa, who delivered a remarkable 2024 WPL season with 23 goals in 16 matches, earning her the Deloitte Player of the Year award.
Said Rosnani: “It’s an honour to captain this team and represent the best of the WPL. This match isn’t just about competition — it’s a chance to show how much women’s football in Singapore has grown.
“Playing against a top team like Brisbane Roar will be an incredible experience for us, and we want to put in a strong performance to inspire the next generation. Growing the women’s game is a team effort, and matches like these are important in taking it forward.”
Ticketing details will be announced soon.
