Three hospitalised after car crashes into Nex taxi stand in Serangoon Central

SINGAPORE: A six-year-old boy and two women were taken to hospital after a car crashed into a taxi stand outside Nex shopping mall in Serangoon Central on Monday (10 Feb) at about 7.50 am.

Police confirmed that the injured were the boy’s 42-year-old mother and a 48-year-old woman.

According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), they were taken to Sengkang General Hospital and Tan Tock Seng Hospital for treatment.

The 59-year-old taxi driver sustained minor injuries but declined medical attention.

Footage of the incident, uploaded on social media, shows a cab pulling up at the taxi stand.

As a woman and a young boy open the taxi door, a white car suddenly ploughs into them, knocking them to the ground.

The impact also hits another woman standing near the taxi stand sign.

Police stated that the driver of the white car, a 34-year-old woman, is assisting with investigations.
