SINGAPORE: A 66-year-old man has been arrested for murder after the body of a 67-year-old woman was discovered in a flat in Ang Mo Kio in the early hours of Friday (29 November).
The police responded to a call at approximately 1:25am at Block 125 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6.
Upon arrival, officers found the woman lying motionless in the flat. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man, who was known to the victim, was apprehended at the location.
According to preliminary investigations, both parties were familiar with each other.
Neighbours told Lianhe Zaobao that they had heard a loud argument coming from the flat on Thursday evening (28 November).
The shouting stopped after a while, and soon after, a large number of police officers arrived, uncovering the murder.
One unnamed resident confirmed that the deceased was a Chinese woman and said police had escorted a man from the flat after the incident.
The man will face a murder charge on Saturday, with the offence carrying the death penalty.
Police investigations are ongoing.
