Perched atop Labrador Tower, 1-Alfaro, which draws inspiration from the lighthouses in Emilia-Romagna (faro is Italian for lighthouse), shines with its seamless drink and dine concept. Restaurant La Torre by Monti, led by Chef Felix, presents modern takes on classic recipes – start with the veal tortellini in comforting chicken consommé, and work your way to the golden, crispy Stecco Petroniano, a traditional Bolognese favourite with mortadella, provolone and béchamel.
While the succulent USDA Prime Heritage Linz ‘costata’ is undoubtedly a showstopper, the handcrafted pastas are the real scene-stealers. The house-made tagliatelle with Bolognese and béchamel espuma is an easy favourite, but the thick, slurppable Curzoli Romagnoli, with fresh tomatoes, plump Manila clams and lemon parsley butter is a must-try. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer great views, but you’ll also want to head out to the alfresco La Luna to enjoy the fresh sea breeze with a digestivo or two.
